Compass Corporate Services are proud to be partnering with a mission-led healthcare provider delivering complex homecare services for children and adults across London and the South East.
Following a period of growth, the organisation is seeking a commercially astute and hands-on Financial Controller to lead and evolve its finance function. This is a pivotal role offering real ownership and visibility, combining operational delivery with strategic financial planning.
The Role
Working closely with the CEO, the Financial Controller will be responsible for driving financial performance through accurate reporting, budgeting, modelling and forecasting. You’ll lead the day-to-day finance operations while playing a key role in shaping the organisation’s financial roadmap.
This role suits someone who enjoys getting into the detail while also contributing to high-level financial decision-making in a growing, purpose-driven organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ownership of monthly management accounts, P&L and balance sheet
- Delivering board-level MI including margin analysis and cost tracking
- Leading financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes
- Developing robust financial models to support strategic decision-making
- Managing short and medium-term cashflow and treasury
- Overseeing payroll, HMRC filings, and compliance
- Preparing audit packs and managing year-end processes
- Leading and developing a small finance team
- Driving continuous improvement across systems and reporting workflows
Location
This is a hybrid role, with 4 days per week based in the London Bridge office and the other day working from home. Candidates must be able to reliably commute to the office for the on-site days.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a finance professional with strong commercial insight and operational credibility -someone equally confident modelling a budget or leading a payment run.
Essential Criteria:
- Ownership of monthly management accounts, P&L and balance sheet
- Delivering board-level MI including margin analysis and cost tracking
- Leading financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes
- Developing robust financial models to support strategic decision-making
- Managing short and medium-term cashflow and treasury
- Overseeing payroll, HMRC filings, and compliance
- Preparing audit packs and managing year-end processes
- Leading and developing a small finance team
- Driving continuous improvement across systems and reporting workflows
Desirable:
- AAT qualified or equivalent (full CIMA/ACCA not required)
- Experience in private equity or exit-preparing environments
- Background in healthcare or service-based SMEs
- Proven team management experience
